Harm Prevention

The Hedland Well Women’s Centre Needle and Syringe Program (NSP) is a harm reduction program. The program plays a vital role in keeping the community safe and healthy. Clients who access this service are provided with Harm Reduction Packs which include;
  • Clean needles and disposable units
  • Condoms
  • Health and drug awareness information
  • How to dispose correctly
Our program works under the model of social inclusion so clients are treated the same regardless of which program they are attending. Clients also have the opportunity to further access the other services the Centre provides for support and assistance. This successful harm reduction model has led the Department of Health to implement it into similar services in Western Australia. If you have any inquiries  regarding this program please Contact Us for more information.
