Pink Pilbara Breakfast Save the Date!

For over 15 years, the Hedland Well Women’s Centre (HWWC) has hosted a community fundraising event in support of cancer. From humble beginnings in 1999, we hosted our first Pink Ribbon Breakfast and raised $1200. This event ran annually up until 2018, with the community event raising over $300,000 for the National Breast Cancer Pink Ribbon Campaign.

In recent years, the event pivoted towards a local community focus, with all funds raised staying in the Pilbara region to support local people impacted by all types of cancer. The Pink Pilbara Breakfast was established in 2018 and in its inaugural year raised $38,000.

After identifying a growing need for further support and assistance on the ground in Hedland, the HWWC introduced a Cancer Support Service. In 2019 and 2020, $123,000 was raised through the Pink Pilbara Breakfast, enabling the organisation to deliver one on one, face to face contact and support to Hedland locals whilst on their cancer journey.

The ongoing success of the Pink Pilbara Breakfast is only made possible through the generosity, compassion and support of our amazing community. The HWWC is committed to seeing this work continue to provide better lives for the people of Hedland. This year all funds raised through the breakfast will allow HWWC to continue to provide the Cancer Support Service to women and their families in our community.

We are excited to turn Hedland pink once again this year on Friday 14th October and invite you to get your flamingo on with us!
