Hedland Well Women’s Centre 2024 Pink Pilbara Breakfast

Since 1991, Hedland Well Women’s Centre (HWWC) has hosted an annual community fundraising event in support of local people affected by cancer. After identifying a growing need for further on-the-ground support and services in Hedland, HWWC introduced an inhouse Cancer Support Service in October 2020.

In 2023, the generosity of the Hedland and Pilbara community raised $115,000. These funds are being used to directly support this critical local service.

This year, all money raised from sponsorships, donations and other fundraising efforts will support two principal purposes:

  1. Primary healthcare – the continuation of HWWC’s clinical and health promotion programs that aim to prevent women’s cancers including lifesaving screening, education and upskilling.
  2. Secondary healthcare – the continuation of HWWC’s clinical Cancer Support Services for local women who have been diagnosed with or are connected to cancer.

The uptake and need for these services continue to rise annually. As HWWC transitions to a sustainable funding model, we invite the community to join us to uplift and empower health opportunities in Port Hedland.

The ongoing success of the Pink Pilbara Breakfast is made possible through the generosity, compassion and support of the incredible Hedland community. Donation and volunteer opportunities are now open and we would love your support. Please contact us for details on how you, your organisation or your business can contribute towards our auction.

This year, the event will be hosted by Married at First Sight’s Lucinda Light. Tickets will go on sale mid-July.

We are excited to turn Hedland pink once again this year on Friday 30th August and invite you to join us!
