FREE WOMENS HEALTH CLINIC

New Women's GP Telehealth Service

Hedland Well Women’s Centre and Luma are partnering with BHP, to bring an accessible and affordable women’s GP telehealth service to Hedland. This service aims to deliver quality, women’s health care to the region, whilst reducing wait times and the need to travel.

Specialising in female sexual and reproductive health, this service can help with:

  • contraception
  • STI testing
  • hormone issues
  • endometriosis
  • PCOS
  • fertility
  • menstrual concerns
  • perimenopause
  • menopause
  • sexual health and wellbeing

This service will be delivered at a reduced cost, thanks to the support of BHP. Please view the Schedule of Fees and Billing Policy here.

Dr Rina Doltani

Dr Rina Doltani is Luma’s knowledgeable GP with 13 years of experience in the medical industry. She focuses on women’s health, with experience in obstetrics, gynaecology and mental health. She has a Bachelor of Medicine / Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS).

Taren Copeman

With a background in Nursing for more than 30 years, Taren is our Registered Nurse. Our women's health clinic offers cervical screening testing in a comfortable and safe environment. Taren is a gentle and caring nurse who is passionate about women's health.

Jess Mills

Jess is our Women's Health Nurse. She has a wide range of skills and knowledge with over 10 years experience in nursing. Jess has a special interest in women’s health after experiencing her own journey with fertility struggles and endometriosis. She understands the health challenges that regional women face and looks forward to supporting the women of Hedland.

Women's Health Clinic

We are committed to making sure women in our community have access to the health services that they need. The Hedland Well Women’s Centre Women’s Health Clinic facility is a free service provided by the Centre’s women’s health nurse and offers a range of individual appointments including:

– Cervical screening (self-collection method available)
– Partial STI testing (limited to Chlamydia and Gonorrhea testing)
– Blood pressure checks
– Pregnancy testing and unplanned pregnancy support and advice
– General health questions, discussions and referrals
– Diabetic wellness checks
– Body composition analysis
– Baby measurements

We also offer a free Women’s Health Check, which includes a combination of any of the above tests, as well as Resting Heart Rate, Height and Weight, Total Cholesterol, Body Mass Index, LDL/HDLT/Triglycerides and Blood Sugar Levels. A mini mental health check and education on breast self-examination, bowel cancer, skin, vision and dental awareness is also included.
